There's plenty of sites that cover the subject of reloading data, but sabots are obscure, and there's not much reloading information on them. As I experiment with sabots, I'll be updating reloading information on saboted bullets on this blog entry: http://guerrilla-rnd.com/blog/?p=8

Any progress on making a sabot trap for a threaded barrel will get a new blog entry.

Maybe we can get some press doing appeals testimony for people convicted based on ballistics forensics.

Cool stuff. hey I think I remember in shooter that there was a scene where paper was used, not these plastic looking things. is that possible?

Funny you mention that. That movie is what inspired me to look in to sabots. Smiley

I've actually got a reloading book that covers exactly the paper method the old guy was talking about. I'll go ahead and upload what I've got on this for you.

The cool thing about that method is: unlike sabots, paper has the advantage of being unrecoverable,(I think) and also being more field expediant. The papertrails related to ordering sabots online are sloppy, so paper wrapping is definately worth mentioning.

I've got a bullet trap on the way so I'll be able to test both methods to confirm that no distinguishing marks are left on the bullets with either method. I'll post my findings as I go.

I don't know what your situation is, but anyone interested in getting started with shooting or reloading, I'll do my best to help out with any questions.
